Chip Moseley, MPT, OCS, CSCS: Co-Owner, Lead Therapist

Chip earned his Master's in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Chip is one of few Board Certified Orthopedic Specialists in Physical Therapy in North Carolina. In addition, he has a specialty in strength and conditioning. His education has continued through hundreds of hours of continuing education in Biomechanics of movement and manual therapy.

Chip has been with Total Motion PT for almost two decades, teaching and changing lives with TMR. While Tom Dalonzo-Baker is the creator of our technique Total Motion Release (TMR), Chip was the co-architect, there from the beginning, and #2 in the process of creating this tool which is now nationally renowned for its ability to fix pains and teach each patient how to fix their own pains.

Chip has major enthusiasm when it comes to his work as a Physical Therapist. He finds much joy in finding relief to patient’s aches and pains. Each patient is a new and exciting puzzle for Chip, who happens to be excellent at solving any puzzle placed in front of him. He has an immense love of the Lord and Physical Therapy, both which show on a daily basis.

Chip, his wife Nancy and their five children: Chase, Molly, Jaxon, and identical twin boys Brad and James live in Rolesville.

Michael Dettlaff, PTA

Michael graduated in 2022 with a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He developed a passion for the field of physical therapy as he rehabbed through 3 shoulder surgeries from a variety of sports injuries in high school and early college. Having experienced the frustration of pain limiting life activities, Michael loves seeing patients make improvements and return to favorite activities.

Aside from helping patients reach their goals, Michael loves working out, playing sports, and being involved with his church. As a Raleigh native, he loves cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes and NC State Wolfpack in addition to following professional sports across the country.

Deanna Merritt: Co-Owner, Office Manager 

Deanna keeps all the daily activities of Total Motion Physical Therapy running smoothly. Her responsibilities are wide and varied but her number one priority is to ensure that the patients receive the highest quality of care. Deanna has been in the medical field for many years and her background was predominantly in Insurance/Billing and Collections. She now facilitates multiple duties within the company and wears many hats.

Deanna is here to assist with all the aspects of a patient’s physical therapy experience and looks forward to the results they will obtain with our TMR Program! If you find that we are not meeting your expectations, please let her know and she will gladly address any questions or concerns that might arise. Just as well, she loves to hear about a patient’s results and any compliments or praises about our clinic and staff are always appreciated!

Deanna resides in Raleigh with her son Gabriel and four legged fur child, Banjo. Deanna enjoys sitting on the back deck listening to music and being outdoors. She also enjoys going to concerts, loud children, a good book, cooking new recipes, sitting by a campfire and spending time with her family and close friends.

Tamara Erdman, Front Desk Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator 

Tamara graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS with a Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2014. She has years of experience in a Physical Therapy practice setting and is excellent at juggling multiple tasks at a time.

Tamara handles everything from answering phones and patient scheduling, to tracking insurance authorizations and maintaining referrals, and various other tasks in between. She also dedicates a great deal of time organizing and handling various workshops that we offer. She takes her role and patient care very seriously and you can bet you'll always be greeted with her awesome smile and warm, friendly attitude.

Tamara was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She relocated to Raleigh in 2019 to be with her boyfriend, David and experience a new change in life. She has two dogs, Baby Kakes and Jaxx. Outside of Total Motion PT, Tamara enjoys spending time outside (especially in the sun), working out, cooking, crafting, putting together puzzles, and playing board games.
