Orthopedic Physical Therapist in Raleigh, NC
You Don't Have to Suffer to Get Better
Pain that keeps coming back — even after PT, injections, or surgery — usually means the root cause was never addressed. Our TMR approach finds it and fixes it, often with improvement at the very first visit.

We Help You Move and Feel Better
Every service at Total Motion PT is built around the same goal: find the underlying cause, treat it directly, and give you the tools to stay pain-free.
What Makes Total Motion PT Different
Most PT clinics treat the painful area directly. We don't. Our TMR approach uses pain-free movements on the opposite side of your body to rapidly reset restriction and restore function — no forcing, no guesswork, just objective results.
The TMR Difference
Total Motion Release is the only technique of its kind — co-developed here by Chip Moseley, OCS, CSCS, and now taught to over 5,000 clinicians nationwide.
Consistency of Care
Our team works together to ensure consistent care, clear communication, and steady progress throughout your treatment plan.
Measurable Progress, Session by Session
We test and re-test your movement every session so you can see real, objective improvement — not just feel like something might be working.
In-Network with Most Insurance Plans
We accept Medicare, BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Workers Compensation. Real care, covered by your plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often from new patients.
What is Total Motion Release and how is it different from regular PT?
TMR is an evidence-based physical therapy technique that treats the pain-free side of the body to rapidly restore function on the painful side. Instead of forcing movement into areas that hurt, we use pain-free movements elsewhere — allowing the nervous system to reset and relieve restriction almost immediately.
I've already done physical therapy and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
Traditional PT often focuses on the painful area with passive treatments like heat and ultrasound. TMR works differently — we identify the underlying mechanical cause of your pain, which is frequently in a different part of the body, and address it directly. Many patients who had no results elsewhere notice significant improvement at or after their first visit.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We are in-network with most major insurance plans including Medicare, BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare. We also accept Workers Compensation cases. Our staff verifies your benefits before your first visit so there are no surprises.
How quickly will I feel results?
Most patients notice significant improvement at or after their first visit. The number of total sessions varies depending on the nature and history of your condition, but our goal is always meaningful, measurable progress from day one.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your first visit includes a full physical assessment — range of motion, muscle testing, and a thorough history review. We discuss your goals and create a personalized TMR treatment plan on the spot. Most patients begin treatment at the first visit and leave with a clearer picture of what is causing their pain and how we are going to fix it.
